The Holy Spirit is the Fire of God consuming all Sin, the turning away from Love as true life and its destructive consequence,
Evil. And, it is the power of God to purify and sanctify us through our abiding in Christ Love. We are saved, "but
only as through fire" (1 Corinthians 3:15)
"He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire" (Luke 3:16)
"I came to cast fire upon the Earth, and would that it were already kindled!" (Luke 12:49)
"And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them (Acts 2:3)
"The Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has
done" (1 Corinthians 3:13)
We are saved, "through sanctification by the Spirit" (2 Thessalonians 2:13)
